What to Do (and not to do) This December

142: What to Do (and not to do) This December

Today I’m talking about some December dos and don’ts. December can be a stressful month because there is a lot going on! So I try to be really intentional in December to set myself up for success.

In this episode, I share...

  • The importance of a visionary day

  • Questions to ask your accountant

  • How to set quality goals

First, I like to take a visionary day. I take one day to reflect on the year and sit with what you want to get out of the next year.

Another December activity is to sit down with an accountant and get your finances organized. This is a great time to ask questions that help maximize deductions and profits for your business.

Also be sure to look at numbers in other areas of your business as well. Look into your marketing and website analytics. See what is really working for you and consider increasing your efforts in those areas.

December is also a good time to think about what you can delegate, automate, eliminate. What tasks can you get off of your plate to open yourself up to do your best work?

You may also want to use some time in December to take a break from social media. If this is your slow time, look at it as a blessing. Take time to organize files, follow up with old leads, or refresh your website.

A few things you DON’T want to do in December… Don’t compare your life to others. Do not feel guilty for taking time off.

Do not just consider vanity metrics. And don’t panic if you don’t hit the goals you set. Also, do not just set goals based on money.

I hope this helps you rest and reflect. I want you to learn from all of the hard things and be able to go into the new year with goals that actually matter.
