Improving Your Creativity

135: Improving Your Creativity

Today I’m talking about improving your creativity. If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut or just want to improve your work, I have some advice for you.

In this episode, I share...

  • Why you need to take care of yourself first

  • Things to do that promote creativity

  • How to set workspace up for success

The first thing you need to do is to make sure your own cup is full. You must take care of yourself to perform at your highest level.

I also encourage you to find a way to challenge yourself. Challenge yourself with a current project or take on something new to get yourself excited about what you’re doing.

Another piece of advice I have is to get outside and out into the world. Inspiration in new things should not be taken for granted. You can be inspired by paying attention to the details you see everywhere.

Remember to pay attention to your workspace. You can switch things up with lighting and candles. Surround yourself with things you love to help inspire you as you work.

And if you are feeling stuck and getting frustrated, step away from your work and revisit it with fresh eyes. When you take a break to recharge, things will look different when you return so resist the urge to finish tasks when your creativity is low.

And finally, to improve your creativity you need to allow yourself to be present and take your time with your work. Don’t rush through jobs, give each task the time it deserves. Build in white space to allow for maximum creativity as you work.

These are the things that help me the most. I hope this advice helps you get to the next level with your creativity too!
