My ADHD Diagnosis & Treatment

128: My ADHD Diagnosis & Treatment

Today I’m talking about my recent diagnosis with adult ADHD.

As you know, I often talk about mental health so I wanted to share part of my journey and the effect it has had on my life.

In this episode, I share...

  • What led me to seek an ADHD diagnosis

  • The experience I had with the diagnosis process

  • How I feel now that I’ve started treatment

I had been feeling like I was constantly operating in “flight” mode. I could not relax and be present in the moment. I was overwhelmed by simple tasks and my brain would just not stop.

Once other people, like my clients, pointed out that details were being missed, I knew I had to do something. So I made a psychiatry appointment to discuss diagnosis.

At the appointment, I took a series of tests and talked with a psychiatrist. Once they confirmed the ADHD diagnosis, I felt so seen. I cried because I had been silently suffering for so long.

Now I feel this calm and peace in my life that I have always wanted. I have never felt this way before and it is the best feeling in the world.

I wanted to share this and remind everyone that if you are struggling with anything, there is help out there. I am here and happy to help in any way that I can.
